We were at home for your first new year's celebrations and you were asleep right up until the big moment!
We watched the fireworks on TV and then headed off to bed.

Your first Christmas...
Today we celebrated your first Christmas. Unfortunately you are too young to really know what was going on and fell asleep while we were opening presents. You were spoilt! We adopted a penguin for you with the WWF, I thought when you're older you may have some appreciation for this and your young love for penguins! Other presents you got were many books, clothes, noisy toys, musical toys, light up rubber ducks, bath toys and lots more.
You spent Christmas with me and Daddy at home. Nana and Grandad were also there and Judy and Phil also popped round to see us, we spent Christmas Eve with Gran as well.
Merry Christmas.

Trip to Daddy's work...
Today I took you into Manchester to visit Daddy's work. He works at City Tower on the 19th floor (which is the highest height you've been so far!).
Everyone there was lovely and you were on your best behaviour. I also had to feed you there (perfect timing!) so you had your bottle while overlooking Manchester from a very great height!
Helen and Sarah took us and Daddy down to Kro for lunch and you were super in there as well - you were sat in your pram people watching.

Visit to Charley & Dan's...
Today you, I and Daddy were invited to go and visit Auntie Charley and her fiance Dan. We had a lovely time there, she had baked us some biscuits and bought you some 'My First Christmas' bibs and adorable socks! You also met Dan for the first time and were very content sat on his knee.
After lunch we went for a walk down to the pub and it was the first pub you were kicked out of! Apparently they don't allow children - even though you were 8 weeks old and fast asleep. Charley's cat Milo was intrigued by your carry cot and kept an eye on you when you were asleep in there!

Your first vaccinations...
Today is the day I've been dreading! It's the day of your very first vaccinations (well minus the vitamin K injection you had when you were born). Thankfully Daddy was able to come along as well for some moral support, you were actually sat on his knee while you had them done. There were two nurses and two huge needles, both were done in your thighs at the same time and you screamed! I felt helpless.
You didn't cry for too long but once we were home you were very out of character. You just lay on me awake and silent so we took your temperature which was a cracking 38.6, as it was over 37.5 we gave you your first dose of Calpol as you had also lost your appetite. This seemed to have worked as when we put you down to bed you slept well. Your next are in 4 weeks which lands at Christmas!

Also while we were at the doctors we bumped into a lady called Beth who we had first met at our antenatal class and then again in Tesco before you had arrived. Turns out she had her daughter on 29th as well! We were comparing notes of birth and how you both are now and they are pretty similar.

Trip to JJ's...
Today Hannah and I took you and Tasmin to JJ's Sensory Centre in Hurdsfield. You arrived fast asleep so I put you on the water bed under the disco ball and this soon woke you up!
I don't think you quite knew what to make of the water bed, however you really enjoyed the bubble tubes.
We were there for around 45 minutes and you were fast asleep by the time we were ready to go home. It was hard work watching all those bubbles!

Meeting Auntie Charlotte...
Today you met one of my oldest friends Charlotte - I went to school with her! She brought you some presents: a gorgeous cream 'Welcome to the world' all in one and a very soft and snugglie comforter. She brought me a lovely baking book (now that I have time to spare!) and a delicious smelling Christmas candle from The White Company.
We then took you to Flora where it was all decorated for Christmas with lots of fairy lights - I thought you would enjoy looking at the lights but you fell asleep in my arms and were out for the afternoon!
I can't wait for your first Christmas.

Meeting Auntie Jo & Alice...
After we took you down to Berrynarbour to meet Sarah and Graham, we came back to Nana Gi's and your Great Auntie Jo and second cousin Alice were there waiting to meet you!
After snuggles and a feed, they took you for a walk down to Tesco. It was the first time someone other than myself had taken you out. Between you and I, I kept checking out the window to see when they were coming back.

Meeting Grandad & Pat...
This evening we went across to Braunton so you could meet your great Grandad and Pat.
While we were there you really enjoyed watching the bubbles in Grandad's fish tank which were a luminous blue in colour. We also put you down on the rug and you had lots of fun kicking your legs and waving your arms around!

Your footprints arrived...
While we were on the ward, this lady came round asking if we wanted to have your footprints framed. Although a bit pricey, we decided to go ahead and I'm so pleased we did.
I'm so chuffed with the final outcome and really pleased we have that memorabilia of your day old feet.

Bringing you home...
After just one night in hospital we were discharged. I was rather grateful as it was incredibly warm on the maternity ward as we were experiencing a very unusual heatwave. Your Dad went to collect the car while I put you in your going-home outfit:
We arrived home at around 21:30.

Welcome to the world!
Today you arrived into the world after a staggering 3 days labour! Well, 11 and 1/2 hours 'active' labour with 2 days prior of a 'latent phase' labour (sporadic contractions while I was at home). You were a very typical British labour, after I had 2 cups of very sugary tea to kick start my contractions towards the end!
You weighed a substantial 8Ib 5oz much to everyone's surprise as you were only a small bump, but obviously very tightly packed. The emotion I felt when you were put on my chest is indescribable, however I know how lucky I am to have a perfect, healthy baby.

Your 4D scan...
Today you are 27 weeks and 2 days and we had booked in for a 4D scan down in Stoke on Trent. It was pretty amazing to say the least.
We were told that you are currently breach and weighing around 2Ib 9oz. The Sonographer actually believed my due date should be around 19th September instead of 25th - you must of had a growth spurt!
This was the only time I was uncomfortable with you. I believe you were sat awkwardly on a nerve in my lower back as I was in agony! Thankfully it only lasted over night.
