Darcie's Birthday Party...

This was the very fist birthday party you went to. We went along with Tasmin and Hannah.

You and the birthday girl!

You all played pass the parcel and then you enjoyed eating your sandwich!

Christening Day...

On a very warm Sunday afternoon you were christened at St Michael's and All Angel's church in Macclesfield (where I was also done many moons ago).

We had such a lovely time and lots of your family came great distances to see you! Afterwards we went back to my mum's for a buffet and lots of cake. You were spoilt (like usual) and were incredibly well behaved considering all the handing around.

Pre-Christening meal...

With your christening the next day and with family travelling quite some miles, we went to The Springwood the night before to celebrate the get together.

Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of everyone, but there were your Great Uncle Steve and Auntie Julie, Great Grandad and Pat, Godfather Maff and me, your father and Nana and Grandad. We had a lovely evening and you had a very late night!

In the park...

Your Great Auntie Kate is over from Switzerland with the cousins at the moment just in time for your christening on Sunday. We went down to the park this afternoon to fill in an hour or so.

It was your first time on the slide and see-saw.

First day of nursery...

It went really well. I was a little emotional when I left you, even though you were fine it dawned on me when I got down the stairs that I was leaving you for a full day with people you barely know! I called at lunch and Roy said you had been a 'star' considering it was your first day, you hadn't cried at all, you had a 45 minute morning nap, you'd been playing in the ball pool and at that precise moment in time you were chewing on a duck.

When I went to collect you, you were playing on the floor and when you spotted me it was like you didn't know how to respond! You started whimpering so I picked you up but you then held your arm out to Roy. I was so relieved you had settled in well... to be honest I never doubted you wouldn't as you will go to anyone with no fuss at all! Every day Roy will complete this information sheet so I can see what exactly you've been getting up to.

But two days is more than enough.

Playtime with the boys!

This afternoon we went round to Dave and Kirsty's and their two young boys. Logan who's 2 and Dylan who's 1. You had a great time playing with their toys. When it was time for your afternoon milk, Dylan decided he wanted some as well so he came and kept you company.

Center Parcs: Making a cast

While we were at Center Parcs I wanted to 'make a memory' so we went along to the pottery barn and had your hands made into a cast and your feet imprinted in paint on a tile.

And these were the finished results:

When I first saw the hands I got a little emotional! Running your hand over them they feel just like your hands (obviously!) but it will be lovely in years to come to look back at it.

Meeting Marcus...

We went to have lunch with my friend Becca and her little boy Marcus was also there as he was on his Easter Holiday's.

He's 4 and was really taken by you. He kept wanting to cuddle you and pick you up but struggled as he wasn't really that much bigger than you!  You were fascinated by him as he's the first little person you've encountered and you were just watching him eagerly as he played with his cars.

Visiting Mick & Jan...

After we had spent the morning with Sue and Steve, we went on to see Mick and Jan who are your Great Grandparents. Here's you with your Daddy, Granddad and Great Granddad.

They had bought you a couple of new toys, one of the teething variety and the other for bath time. We stayed for tea and headed home shortly after so we didn't interfere with your bed time.

Visiting Sue & Steve...

Today we went across to Mansfield to see Sue and Steve - your great great Aunty and Uncle.  Sue had quilted a lovely play mat for you and had baked for me, Daddy, Nanny and Granddad.

Before lunch we went down to see the sheep, complete with lambs.  We met one that was just 24 hours old.  We all got to hold a lamb and I got a little attached and named her Daisy (she had two tags so she will be a Yew next term).

We can maybe go and see her again next year.
