Following on from a very long morning opening your presents, some of your family came round for a buffet to celebrate you turning 1!
Happy birthday baby boy, I hope you enjoyed your special day.

Darcie's Birthday Party...
This was the very fist birthday party you went to. We went along with Tasmin and Hannah.
You all played pass the parcel and then you enjoyed eating your sandwich!

First haircut!
As reluctant as I was, I caved and thought it was about time we had your hair cut. This was only because your fringe was getting in your eyes.
This was before:

You were as good as gold.

Climbing up the stairs...
This afternoon at Mum's house you climbed the stairs for the first time!
Unfortunately only I and Uncle Phil saw it.

Bottoms up!
This was a morning nap and really tickled me!
You stayed in this position for the full two hours and woke up in such a happy mood!

Center Parcs: Swimming
While we were at Center Parcs we took you swimming for the very first time! After the initial shock where you cried for most of the time, you seemed to really enjoy it second time round.

First day of nursery...
It went really well. I was a little emotional when I left you, even though you were fine it dawned on me when I got down the stairs that I was leaving you for a full day with people you barely know! I called at lunch and Roy said you had been a 'star' considering it was your first day, you hadn't cried at all, you had a 45 minute morning nap, you'd been playing in the ball pool and at that precise moment in time you were chewing on a duck.
When I went to collect you, you were playing on the floor and when you spotted me it was like you didn't know how to respond! You started whimpering so I picked you up but you then held your arm out to Roy. I was so relieved you had settled in well... to be honest I never doubted you wouldn't as you will go to anyone with no fuss at all! Every day Roy will complete this information sheet so I can see what exactly you've been getting up to.
But two days is more than enough.

The end of maternity leave...
So my 10.5 months of maternity has come to an end and boy what a journey it has been! I must admit I'm quite proud of our efforts... in one way or another we've successfully turned this bundle of adorableness:
Into this humongous bundle of even more adorableness:
Not bad for 9 months work!
Here's to the next chapter x x x

Center Parcs: Making a cast
While we were at Center Parcs I wanted to 'make a memory' so we went along to the pottery barn and had your hands made into a cast and your feet imprinted in paint on a tile.
And these were the finished results:
When I first saw the hands I got a little emotional! Running your hand over them they feel just like your hands (obviously!) but it will be lovely in years to come to look back at it.

While I was packing up lots of parcels I had to post, you decided you wanted to kneel up amongst all the bags!

New car seat....
You really are growing up! We've had to move onto the next stage of car seat as you were getting too heavy for the old one. That's another thing to go up to the loft!
You also seem to have a taking your sock of thing at the moment... I'm sure it'll pass.
